Music examinations are a method of formally assessing the accomplishments of pupils learning musical instruments. Students are awarded grades based on their proficiency with instruments, starting at initial grade all the way up to grade 8 and diploma. An examination board provides examinations in music. These examinations award grades and diploma qualifications in music within the UK’s national qualifications. We work with multiple examination boards to give our students more flexibility and choice in how they wish to advance.
In the United Kingdom music exams are graded from initial grade to grade 8, with initial grade being the entry level, and grade 8 opening the door into further education in music. To advance above grade 5 in a practical exam grade 5 theory is advised. Here at Peterhead music and rock school we can help you progress through all grades up to diploma level. This is complete optional and down to your personal preferences. You may just want to learn for fun, we cater for everybody.
